Narrative Warfare: How To Fake The Past

When Ubisoft started promoting Assassin's Creed: Shadows featuring the historical man known as Yasuke, there was a concerted effort to promote the narrative that he was a full-fledged samurai.

To make a long story short, "LOLno".

But (a) that hurts Ubisoft's prospects for the game and (b) doesn't further the demoralization campaign against Japan so (c) "the evidence" needs to be doctored to support The Narrative.

When I went through University, every single librarian and historian I studied under--NO MATTER THEIR POLITICS--forbade citing Wikipedia for this reason.

But the issue here is Citogenesis turning into Accepted Fact and thus Common Sense, and that is Narrative Warfare in action.

There's a reason that competent scholars not only interrogate the evidence but those that provided them; scholars, like scientists, are just as prone to corruption as bureaucrats and elected officials- and, like scienitsts and politicans, are just as often stupidly cheap whores to boot.

This has been a well-known problem for so long that it's become a storytelling trope to itself.

(Insert theories about Prince Harry being a secret bastard here, among other Manufactured Narratives-as-History trope examples.)

Now consider this being done with things that you know or care about. Some of you care about Ukraine. Some about Gaza. Some the legitimacy of the American Federal Government. Whatever it is, consider that the narrative surrounding it may not be wholly true or factual, and consider that this may be so because the lie serves the narrative.

This wilfull fabrication and obfuscation of the truth in and of itself serves the purpose of Empire. By throwing certainty into chaos, Man is thrust into a liminal space where the core of his identity is rendered fragile and malleable; Man must anchor himself into something certain, or seemingly so, in order build first his identity and then all else that defines him and his existence- his culture, his civilization.

Deniably throw the target into chaos (cause the problem), then Empire comes along with answers that restore order (provide the solution) with the hidden costs of enslaving the target to Empire and making Thralls of them in the process because the new order rests itself on a fraudulent inversion of Original Sin that only abasement to Empire can assuage- but never release.

Tell me that is not what happened in the West post-WW2 and I will call you a liar, because that is exactly what happened- and now they're doing this to Japan, South Korea, and it will begin worming its way through Latin America too in short order. All that changes are the trappings.

This is Empire in action, and it is why Empire must fall.

Narrative Warfare: Beware Centralization & Cartelization

This past week, in a small niche of the greater culture, a corporate media outlet got shut down.

This is because a competing corporate media conglomerate bought the outlet's parent company and shut them down. To ordinary business observors, this is nothing unusual; this is typical acquisition and consolidation operations.

As much as one can assign nefarious intent--and yes, there is such--for this the act itself needed no such thing.

I say that because media as a commercial enterprise is entirely driven by Network Effects for their value. Competing networks always end up with the greater subsuming the lesser without outside intervention purely due to how commercial incentives work. Centralization is rewarded, so that is what happens over time.

Revealed Preferences shows that this stablizes at a handful of choices for the end-user with noticable, but not necessarily substantial, differences between them. This means that the end result is a Cartel arrangement where conflict is managed, even manufactured, to gatekeep out upstarts and maintain the illusion of choice between the Cartel members.

It takes real power from outside to prevent this from happening, but the irony is that only centralization allows for real power to accrue into a dense enough form to do that.

Figuring out how solve this problem, or at least come up with a practical solution, is something better minds than mine have grappled with for generations.

I may have something that works where I am, but it isn't likely to be universally applicable. Keep that in mind if you grapple with this problem.

Narrative Warfare: The Human Sacrifices Did Not Stop

A reminder on how bad things get, and are still in many places, and if not for the Internet this would still be buried in places like the old Art Bell radios show.

Trafficking is not just the satisfaction of targetted individuals' disordered desires in order to get kompromat to use as leverage over them and thus suborn them into being agents of Empire.

Trafficking's real purpose is a spiritual one. It exists to feed human sacrifice demands.

The only difference between then and now is that the ritual action is "merely" sexual violation instead of going straight to outright ritual murder. The killing, instead, is far more likely of the Cleaner sort than the ritual murder- though that certain still happens.

Exaggerated, but not by much.

The defense of the trafficking is not merely because it hides among the trafficking of drugs, guns, illegals, and other things deleterious to a target population that Empire seeks to subjugate.

The defense is particularly vehement because, like the otherwise-inexplicable disproportionate punishment of the Imperial Creed's violation (i.e. disrespecting Muh Gayshit), it is a religious matter. Trafficking feeds human sacrifice, which is what Empire feeds upon to sustain itself in the face of relentless force by God and Nature to snuff it out.

Which is why whenever anyone poses a threat to any aspect of the trafficking network, you can rely upon a dispropotionate retaliation to come upon those responsible.

NEW: El Salvador authorities burn a 2.7-ton pile of cocaine worth an estimated $67 million.

Narcotrafficking networks cause a lot of problems in Latin America. They do not stop at drugs; guns, people, and more also get moved around by them- and Intelligence Agencies make use of them as Deniable Assets. (Remember Iran-Contra?)

If you want to focus on just one thing to hurt Empire, one thing that directly and materially affects damn near everything else, attack the trafficking. Not a move for the weak, timid, poor, or faithless; don't think you can Lone Wolf that shit.

Work at home. Get up to speed on what this is and how it works. Then tell your family, your friends, and your neighbors. Focus on how this directly and materially affects them, and then on what they can do here and now to deal with it- and (believe it or not) how local authorities (the ones you actually have any power over) can act.

You'll soon see if the networks have their hooks where you live, and if so how.

This is a part of Empire's core, something that you see everywhere and everywhen where Empire holds power. Hit this, and it will be forced to react; when it does, it can't keep up attention and resources elsewhere, meaning that you can force an opening through which you can attack Empire and defeat it with proper follow-through.

And, once you show that Empire bleeds, its aura of invicibility is gone.

And Empire falls.

Narrative Warfare: What A Leader Loyal To His People Looks Like

Tucker Carlson went to El Salvador recently to attend the second inauguration of President Nayib Bukele. He got an interview with the present, embedded below.

It is not just the West that has no leaders loyal to their people. It is almost every state in the world. El Salvador is the exception, the outlier, not the rule.

Therefore it is not unusual for many observers, like myself, to be pleasantly surprised to see that Bukele's claims are routinely confirmed by independent actors who go there to see things first-hand. The most reliable of these are private individuals, reporting to private groups, about such things as they have little (if any) incentive to lie or hedge due to both the venue and the audience not being public.

(Yes, I am in a few such groups. Yes I have seen a few such reports.)

One can critique specific moves he's made, but there is no honest gainsaying of the results. He took a country rotten with crime and related violence, such that the state had been rendered impotent, and reversed it overnight. Other countries in Central America, and now in South America, are taking notes and copying his techniques to achieve the same ends. (I wish them all the luck; they need it.)

One can be concerned that he will follow the route of many others and become a dictatorial tyrant himself, but the fact is that he has cleaned out a notoriously corrupt government and its agencies and replaced them with people of like-mind to himself: nationalists seeking the Common Good for the El Salvadoran nation.

He is, for now, proof that there is such a thing as a sovereign nation-state that is not in practice an Imperial satrapy or province. Empire does not concede defeat; it only regroups and awaits a new opportunity to strike (as we have just seen in Mexico with its President-Select), and Bukele plays a necessary-yet-dangerous game of using rival Imperial powers against each other (the Chinese collaborations in the country).

And he is a man that understands the Social Media and Public Relations game.

This interview with Tucker, his appearance at CPAC, his invitation of Argentina's Javier Milei to the inauguration, and his attacking of the Biden Administation (as a proxy for attacking Globohomo) in his Rhetoric are all calculated to provoke a response abroad. That response is to provoke friendly nationalists (i.e. us) to useful action, to do what it takes to seize, hold, and wield power as he did.

Bukele thinks, correctly, that a nationalist takeover of Globohomo-occupied states would result in new governments friendly to El Salvador. It would also result in incentivize for Salvadorans abroad to go home (more than they have), as much due to improved conditions at home as anything else, as the nationalist states would need to cooperate and collaborate to maintain their gains against Globohomo as well as prevent infiltration by the other two Imperial powers.

Everyone wins from this interview, just like everyone but Empire wins from Bukele being in office, and he's a man to watch and heed. More men like him succeeding means Empire falls.

Narrative Warfare: The UN Report Is Theater

It will have all the impact of the warrants from the International Criminal Court: Nothing.

The value of this development matters only insofar as it is a serious loss of Face for Israel that its media and influence operations will have to devote significant time and effort to address and contain.

The reality is that most of the world, being some form of Face Culture, will take this as a signal that it is permissible to go hostile on Israel and those aligned with it.

Those same parties, however, are either too weak to do any real harm to Israel or are already aligned with Israel (regardless of what the population there thinks).

In the short term, it's a nothingburger. In the long term, it depends on how Israel concludes its Gaza operations. It will remain a nothingburger if Israel wins in Gaza, cleans out the Palestinians, and completes its replacement and settlement of the area with its own kind. It will become the cause to begin shifting to open hostility, even violence, by a lot more people if Israel fails or faill short.

The reason, when stripped of the blather and bullshit, is as simple as this: most people live in Face Cultures for the reason in the meme.

It's no surprise that Face Cultures are so violent, even the ones thought of as "civilized", and as such most therein can't defend themselves. QED.

So yes, this report is theater. It is not useless theater. The distinction is in the signalling value.

By itself it's useless. It has to be done with follow-up moves to have any impact on the facts on the ground, and given that Ukraine is ongoing, Taiwan in the mix, the Red Sea being a hot warzone, and the US just getting one big step closer to a second civil war what that follow-up move will need to be is anyone's guess- but it can't be empty words. It has to involve violence targetted at Israel or its interests, and it has to be potent and massive. Talking is now worse than useless.

The Post-War Consensus is over. The new Age of War has begun. Empire must fall.

History Rhymes: The Rubicon Must Be Crossed Again

Sargon of Akkad lays out the obvious.

History does not repeat, but it does rhyme.

This is going to happen. It may not be Barron Trump, but that man already exists and many candidates are aware of the parallel now in the environment.

This includes Globohomo, whose Great Replacement is meant to be a prevenative measure by importing a new subject class as Clients to whom they are Patrons and Masters who will be used to suppress, harass, and ultimately exterminate the native nations of the West (and any other such state under threat of such a regime- looking at you, Japan and South Korea).

And yes, Europe, you're going to get your own- if you do it right, you'll have one for each of you.

Again, this is going to happen. The only useful move to make now is to ensure that Caesar is /ourguy/, because that maximizes the odds to make Empire fall.

I know who I would back, like it or not, because the alternative is exponentially worse.

Again, our Caesar already exists. He just hasn't seized power yet.

Narrative Warfare: To Weaponize Something Empire Struggles To Cope With

Alexander Macris wrote an article of use to dissidents this past week, "No, Really - What is to Be Done?" at Contemplations on the Tree of Woe.

Why is this of value to dissidents? Because he took the time to solve a persistent problem that dissidents deal with: entryism by the Enemy.

His conclusion will be familiar to many of you once you read it. He quotes his prior article, "The Seven Generations of Modern War", as part of this and I will do the same.

In a networkless insurgency, the splinter cells of the resistance would not communicate face-to-face, nor by cell phone, nor by internet contact. Instead they would rely only on stigmergy. Derived from the Greek words stigma (sign) and ergon (to act), stigmergy is the use of environmental mechanisms to coordinate the actions of independent agents. It is responsible for bird flocks and ant swarms...

[T]here are four mechanisms of stigmergy:

• Stigmergic marking. Markers left by one splinter cell influences the actions of other splinter cells. Ants leave pheromones as markers for other ants. In the context of an insurgency, the news coverage of an attack would fill the same role.
• Sematectonic signaling. Here, “environmental conditions influence the behavior of all actors in the system.” For instance, if an anti-Chinese splinter cell attacks Beijing’s Forbidden City, the Forbidden City will be given increased security thereafter. The increased security becomes a signal to other splinter cells not to attack there.
• Quantitative signaling. Here, “the environmental signals are of a single scalable type. The size of a global guerilla attack on a given location can meter the scale of the security response.”
• Qualitative signaling. “The environmental signals are of a varied type that change the message based on their combination. Different types of attacks on the same target will yield information on the type of attack that is most effective.”

That, friends, is a Stand Alone Complex.

While originally intended to "underscore the dilemmas and concerns that people would face if they relied too heavily on the new communications infrastructure,"[1] Stand Alone Complex (スタンド・アローン・コンプレックス Sutando Arōn Konpurekkusu?) eventually came to represent a phenomenon where unrelated, yet very similar actions of individuals create a seemingly concerted effort.

A Stand Alone Complex can be compared to the emergent copycat behavior that often occurs after incidents such as serial murders or terrorist attacks. An incident catches the public's attention and certain types of people "get on the bandwagon", so to speak. It is particularly apparent when the incident appears to be the result of well-known political or religious beliefs, but it can also occur in response to intense media attention. For example, a mere fire, no matter the number of deaths, is just a garden variety tragedy. However, if the right kind of people begin to believe it was arson, caused by deliberate action, the threat that more arsons will be committed increases dramatically.

What separates the Stand Alone Complex from normal copycat behavior is that there is no real originator of the copied action, but merely a rumor or an illusion that supposedly performed the copied action. There may be real people who are labeled as the originator, but in reality, no one started the original behavior. And in Stand Alone Complex, the facade just has to exist in the minds of the public. In other words, a potential copycat just has to believe the copied behavior happened from an originator - when it really did not. The result is an epidemic of copied behavior having a net effect of purpose. One could say that the Stand Alone Complex is mass hysteria over nothing - yet causing an overall change in social structure.

This is not unlike the concepts of memes (refer to the conversation between the major and the Puppet Master in the manga) and second-order simulacra. It also has ties to social theory, as illustrated in the work of Frederic Jameson and Masachi Osawa. The Slender Man phenomenon, in which the fictitious concept of a supernatural murderer went viral and has allegedly inspired real attacks, may be seen as an example of the Stand Alone Complex.

Macris, as the Comments in his article reveal, had no knowledge of Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex before I mentioned it to him.

He independently discovered the phenonemon and explained how it works in a manner that invites practical application. That is the value his article presents to those opposed to Empire.

By independently discovering this phenonemon, he validates the claim that it is real. If it is real, then it can be used. If it can be used, it can be weaponized.

And if it can be weaponized, it can be deployed to make Empire bleed.

You don't have to be a Deep State actor like Goda to make this happen, dissident. You just need to know how this thing works. Learn your tools, dissident, and stand.

The memes are the missiles. Make Empire fall.
